Right. Am home. *HOMEHOMEHOMEFSCUKINGSWEETHOMEYESAIRCON*
The LJ is a tad bare now. Went on a delete spree simply because I needed to kill/maim/destroy something. The past week has been hell.
Wasjusttooclose to tipping over. Which wasn't really surprising when one does the 2 hours of sleep and too many shots of espresso thing. It got to the point where I broke down over a deleted link and had problems breathing, much to my room mate's horror and WTFDOYOUTHINKYOUAREDOING?! (Which I couldn't really blame her for. The med student is having her hols now and my room mate is really a life science major. "I don't know CPR! DON'T DIE ON ME DAMNIT!" I would have been amused if it wasn't for the fact that I was wheezing already.) After that particular bout, I decided I had enough and just couldn't deal with sitting up and memorising every gottdamn detail from the text. (Because heaven forbid that you know just the concepts. Fuck, NOOOOO~ You need to know the examples of tariffs, when, where, between which countries, the 3586798351 derivations of the same fooking formula, the students' names of the researchers, the students of the students of the researcher, which animals were used for which experiements to prove what, fuckyoupsychology.)
In other words, my CAP is FUCKED. And. I think it's really sad that all I can think about after this whole experience is OMGFUCKFUCKFUCKCAPFUUUCCCCCCCCK!. Which says a lot of about exactly how fucked up the students here are. I hate the system here. Why? Refer here. BTW, the whole "Let's be creative and come up with other better schools" shit? Like the one NUS is building? For students who "do not need to be spoon-fed"? Thank you, Papa Gov. You've just shown me the education system here can actually get fucked beyond what we once thought was the limit. And we're all lab rats in your eyes. Luv ya too, bastards.)
One more thing. The next person who says uni life is easier than college life can just go stuff it.
*exhales* OTOH, received a note to collect my Farewell to my Concubine poster and my UOB Campus card finally arrived. (Yes. Now to decide on a domain name.) Finding out that one of my last 2 papers is actually a open-book one also helps. (Actually, the fact that the last 2 papers are lit ones helps a fucking lot. It means I get to do nothing but read book after book this weekend. I'm hoping I'm not going to screw myself over the last 2 papers as well.)
Watching the O.C helped too. It doesn't seem too bad so far, but the music is the one that does me in. So far I've heard Rufus Wainwright (I sparkled like mad when I heard the boy), a cover of "Hallelujah" in the background (the Jeff Buckley one if I'm right) and Phantom Planet's "California" (surprisingly catchy). But a quick check off Ghostwheel tells me that The Dandy Warhols (I love these guys. They're nuts.), Jet (HEH. XD), Aqualung, Smashing Pumpkins and a lot more good stuff are on their way. D00d, whoever did the soundtrack is the WHOOWHEE. Sampled the First Mix and I want the soundtrack.
I don't know how many of you here watched today's pilot epidode of MediaCorp's Blueprint II. I missed the first series, even if I did hear it was bloody good. Today's was Princess Moon, based on the winner's script. which I didn't expect much. But hell, it turned around and bit me. I like the fact that it dealt with issues of the working and lower-middle class (which I could relate to because hell, I am from the a working class family background) without ever really coming out to say anything explicit. It wasn't just a story about love and most definitely not a story dealing with just puppy love, never mind the blurb on the site. Shit. It had lines like, "How do you measure Love? By the size of the hole it leaves behind."
Man. MediaCorp needs scriptwriters like these instead of the whole "Oh, Carol" shit swarming the screen these days.
That's about all. Wait. People, when do your papers end? Mine end on the 22nd. Drop me a note if we're to meet up for sushi and/or retail therapy and/or BITCH!session or whatever, yea? Princess D, I'll be looking forward to traumatising yer. Heh.
Night.

Date: 2004-04-16 10:18 am (UTC)* It's Disney slash.
* It's furryslash, only less evolved than that.
* Underaged sex!
* Cross-species underaged... okay, you see it just goes on.
Extremely well-written stories, to put the icing on the cake. And now I know all sorts of things about the life cycle of the clownfish that I didn't use to.

Date: 2004-04-17 04:30 pm (UTC)I wasn't trying to make you feel guilty, you know, you did that all by yourself. XD *is sporked* It just fit the characters so well. The aquarium! The sushi! I think the drabbles are my favorites out of what I've written for PoT, really.
Klutz indeed, she sighs. Though it's a little better today.

Follow the various links in the comments for, er, more!
(PoT is lite on the calories and goes down easy. It's endlessly amusing, but I won't count sl0ring anyone on it as doing them a favour. XD)
X-ray: it's not that easy. Socialist medicine is t3h suxx0r. For one thing, there really isn't anywhere I can go for it over the weekend except a hospital emergency room proper, where I will probably have to wait eight hours straight behind the bullet-wound traumas and the broken hips. Sickly senior citizens have been known to die in hospital waiting rooms. For two, what can they possibly do for a cracked rib anyway, apart from confirming that I have one? >_> I don't want painkillers, because I dislike pills.
