Still reading Gibson. This time, Idoru. I think...I think I finally gotten the hang of how he works. I think. Still. A moment of déjà vu there with the noodles. I had to reread it twice to make sure I was reading what I was reading.

Anyway. As promised, a link to Dreamboat, where the Chinese fangirls sl0re everything and anything BL/yaoi/ghei/同志. Stumbled upon it when searching for Velevt Goldmine BT links. From obscure old gay flicks with Antonio Banderas to Leslie Cheung's first year death anniversary specials to the making of the French Rugby Team nude calender, you decide what you want to do with the link. I am not to be held responsible for anything.

I am rather tempted to go off on a sushi trip tomorrow though. The swordfish sashimi beckons.

I've forgotten how depressing Garbage can sometimes be.

PS: The Hours. Whoa.

You really should read Virtual Light pre-Idoru, though. (Not that I did. ^^;) And like everyone sez, the early schtuff is better. Mostly in terms of novel-qua-novel structure; the later ones tend to leave one with an impression of "...that's it?", plotwise. Too, the early ones are darker and more dysfunctional, for people whose tastes lean in that direction. I keep reading Mr Gibson regardless, though, for style, and because he sees the world with a very similar eye to mine.

Heh heh, noodles. But what is this ebil of which you speak, precisely? XD

Dreamboat: would be nice if Asian BTs allow me to connect, but they don't... ^^;

Oh, and hope sleep pattern is a little better. >_> Sunday I slept 4AM-1PM, and then again 9PM-1AM on the sofa. Got up, showered, checked mail and went back to bed at 5AM to be up at 8AM. Soooo screwed up. ^^;

Eh. No idea about what people say regarding his books. I take them as they appear on library shelves. ^^; I like his style, just that for the moment I am still going "...eh?" It just feels very disjointed and yet things flow. My brain has to keep trying to run and catch up.

He says Noodles, you say Ramen. Same, but not quite. (As for the ebil, two words. Bowie. Lawsuits. *cracks up*)

The bittorrents should work. Don't click on the titles, but the DL links. (Title links just lead to the discussion page.) Downloaded a few files there before. And the seeds expire almost as fast as new files are uploaded.

...and here I was thinking when I start working, I'll fall like a log upon reaching home. Hmmmm.

Oh, no, the BT trackers themselves kick me off. ^^; As in do not take to North American IPs. People in Europe seem to have no trouble.

Yeah, sometimes Gibson makes you stop and read a paragraph several times over just to understand what actions took place and why people did what they did. More that than the descriptions, actually, which are supposed to be impressionistic.

Gibson's on my reading list this holiday too. I'm supposed to get Neuromancer off Bryan.. and I gave him "Pattern Recognition" sometime back.

Would you recommend him? (Gibson, I mean)

Er. Do you like sci-fi? Well, Gibson isn't exactly sci-fi, but it's the genre closest to what he's writing IMO. Haven't read Pattern Recognition so I can't comment on that one, but try Neuromancer out. Even just for the ideas he can come up with. Just don't expect Gibson to guide you through his world, holding your hand.

PS: Of course I know you're referring to Gibson lar. Then? B ar? XD
