Somewhere out there, someone has found it fit to release only the second disc of the famed Depeche Mode 101 DVD set. Pounced on it as the damn set is not available on this island. It might not have been wise to watch it without much sleep.

The second disc opens with David Gahan channeling his inner Freddie Mercury and Martin Gore in bondage gear.... yes, Martin Gore in bondage gear. If it helps with the pain, he later changes into an outfit that reminds one strongly of Wilde's tastes. I'll leave it to your imagination to fill in the blanks. (CLUE: BONDAGE CHAIN SUSPENDERS & WIDE-BRIMMED HAT OMFG.)

More or less had a permanent OO; look on my face for the whole duration. The other moments were filled with cracking up, cringing, inner squeeing over Alan Wilder* and cursing the cameramen for perving. While one knows Gahan wore tight white jeans for the Rose Bowl Stadium, because of said cameramen following Gahan's ass faithfully, we now know that Gahan's jeans were so tight, one could actually see VPL VUL even through the backpockets. Then again, can't say I blame them. Gahan was one young hawt cockerel. There was much strutting and gyrating and thrusting of the pelvis. *mutters darkly about teasing DM mansluts*

It was also extremely awkward to see Andrew Fletcher in the concert. You get the sense that the poor man has no idea what he's really supposed to do up there on stage, which might explain his fidgeting and bizzare arm/hand movements.

Depeche Mode - Pleasure, Little Treasure (101 LIVE)
Depeche Mode - Things You Said (101 LIVE)
Depeche Mode - Master and Servant (101 LIVE)
Depeche Mode - Somebody (101 LIVE)

Never quite thought I would prefer DM LIVE tracks to the album/remix version. But I really like the LIVE version for "Pleasure, Little Treasure" and "Things You Said". There was also much cheeky looks exchanged between Gahan and Gore during the first track in 101 but let's not go there now. OMGBONDAGEGEAR!WHOLENEWDYNAMICS! And in case you were wonder, the opening track for disc 2 of 101 movie was "Master and Servant". *CRIES*

"Somebody", probably the most emo DM song ever IMO, is surprisingly sung by Gore. Who sounds remarkably like Gahan when singing and entirely different when he is not. No, this is not an attempt to break your brain further. Really.

*I wasn't never quite into Wilder, but in 101, he has the most beautiful hand movements and have you seen the way he smiles? The end.
