"Earth's crammed with heaven."
Jul. 23rd, 2005 12:09 amAm waiting impatiently for 七剑, Seven Swords, which is due to premiere on the 4th of August. It's been some time since the world last seen a proper Wuxia film, much more one from Tsui Hark. Honestly, can one classify Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Hero under the Wuxia category? The first seems to be pushing the boundaries while I see the latter more as an art film rather than an actual Wuxia flick. Perhaps I don't quite register them as Wuxia movies as they weren't shot in the usual HK style. Grew up watching Tsui Hark's Wuxia flicks so I suppose I expect Wuxia films shot in a certain way. XD;
The trailer's snippets look really promising, the swords look hot, it is rumoured that Seven Swords is Liu Chia Liang's last choreographing and well, Tsui Hark.
... Maternal Unit keeps calling 七剑 "that Charlie Yeung movie" and comments gloomly that another classic is butchered. I don't know. We'll see.
